Editing
Editing rates vary depending on the type of editing you want and the type of manuscript you have. I charge a per page rate, where a “page” is 250 words (the industry standard). To figure out how many pages you have, divide your total word count by 250. That way you can send me your manuscript without worrying about font size or layout issues.
Basic proofreading includes checking for spelling mistakes, punctuation, typos, capitalization errors and awkward grammar:
Your cost: $4 (6 TL) per page
Copyediting includes proofreading (see above), plus checking for general structure, style, cohesion, organization, word choice, inconsistencies and redundancies. In areas that need more work, I'll insert a question or comment for you to consider.
Your cost: $6.50 (10 TL) per page
These rates apply to a wide variety of manuscripts, including but not limited to:
- Novels
- Ebooks
- Academic papers
- College application essays
- Emails
- Brochures
- Websites
Longer manuscripts may qualify for an additional discount.
My rate guidelines come from the Editorial Freelancers Association (US), which has set suggested guidelines for editing rates. I tend to follow these because they are the industry standard.

Writing
Prices for writing projects, including websites, brochures, newsletters and emails, are a bit more complex to figure. Please inquire about writing prices by sending email to bjisenberg@gmail.com.
Note: Prices are set in US dollars and given above in both dollars and Turkish lira. I can accept payment in both currencies, as well as in Euros and GBP.
